How we write and check our guides
This page explains where the facts on this site come from, how we check them, and what we do when we get something wrong. It applies to every guide and to every city page in every language.
Where our numbers come from
- What studios keep. We say a studio usually keeps about half of the platform payout, and that reported cases range from 30 to 70 percent. That comes from the Human Rights Watch report on webcam studios in Colombia (2024), the ICIJ investigation published at the same time, and press reporting on studios in Romania. We have found no comparable study for other countries, and we say so on the pages that use the figure.
- Token value. Chaturbate pays broadcasters about 0.05 USD per token, as the company told Human Rights Watch.
- Income. We do not publish beginner income promises. Where we show money, it is a worked example of how a payout is split, or a range we can source, and it is labelled as such.
How country sections are checked
City pages include a section about the country: how payouts reach a local bank, how independent workers usually declare this income, what the local studio scene looks like, and what to check about your legal status. Each of these sections lists the sources it is based on, with a link, and shows the date it was last checked against them. We prefer official sources: tax offices, government business portals, statistics offices and migration authorities. News articles are used only to show that something has happened, for example that studios have faced legal action.
When a fact could not be confirmed on an official page, the text says so and tells you who to ask. Nothing on this site is legal, tax or immigration advice.
What we never do
- We never name real studios, for or against.
- We never publish explicit content.
- We never write for anyone under 18, and we never use youth-coded language.
- We never try to talk anyone into adult work. Our pages are for adults who have already decided to try it.
Corrections
If something on a page is wrong or out of date, tell us through our Telegram bot. We fix confirmed errors and update the checked date on the page.
How we make money
We earn a referral commission when someone creates a Chaturbate account through our links, at no cost to them, and we sell paid one-to-one consultations through our Telegram bot. Neither changes what we write about studios, income or safety. See the disclaimer and about pages.
